Hello again,
We’ve had a busy few weeks. We sailed for 5 days testing the rig and getting it tuned. We also tested out the various other systems on the boat. All checked out well. We then had 5 days to work on the boat and shorten the work list. We started at about 4 pages and now it’s down to just a little over page. Hap arrived Friday and we started sailing again. Most of the crew is here now and we are looking at all our possible sail combos. And there are lots of combos possible!
We have removed quite a bit of hardware in winches and hydraulics so we have been sorting out how to get the same jobs done with less. All this has been in an effort to get weight off the boat. We will sail again tomorrow in San Diego before heading up to Long Beach on Tuesday.

Sailing
Yes, believe it or not, we are sailing. We sailed yesterday for the first time with the new rig. The team has been put in quite a large effort to get to this point. Yesterday was spent looking at the rig and getting some general impressions. Today was more rig tuning and also looking at the new bow sprit with the A2 and the R-2, our fractional sail that we use for reaching. Everything is looking good and we feel like we are finally on the road to getting ready for Transpac.
Worklist
Just a quick update.
We stepped the rig yesterday and successfully got it tuned. We were all very nervous about lengths of all the shrouds. Credit goes to the guys at Hall and Future Fibers for getting it all right. The team worked hard to get it all together. Today was spent hammering away at the worklist. Tomorrow we are splashing the boat and then do all the incline and Transpac measurement. Our boy Blue (Tomac) also gets into town to get all the sails sorted. So we will keep working on getting the worklist smaller.
Hope you enjoyed the video.
