Bella Mente Racing wrapped up day two of sea trials today in Florida. The team is currently preparing for its 2015 campaign.“We did downwind work all day, moving the boat from West Palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale in a brisk northerly,” said Owner/Driver Hap Fauth adding that the wind stayed between 15 to 25 knots throughout the afternoon. “The crew did a great job, and the boat not only looked good but also exceeded our performance expectations!”
Bella Mente’s Tactician Terry Hutchinson added, “All in all the time was well spent. At one point, Hap sent her [Bella Mente] down a ten foot swell at 20+ knots of boat speed with a big smile on his face. You could see the effort of the day was completely worth it. We have a lot of work to do to be ready for Quantum Key West Race Week in 2015, and the expectations are high, so this practice time is well worth it for our development.
The team will be out on the water again tomorrow for practice as well as rig tuning and sail checks. Stay tuned for more updates throughout the week.
